Dr. Scott B. Samera, DPM is a podiatrist with nearly a decade of professional experience
– and has strong roots in our community. Dr. Samera grew up in Suwannee and Columbia Counties, and upon graduating with his medical degree, was eager to return home.
Prior to establishing his private practice in 2011, Dr. Scott B. Samera worked with – and continues to remain affiliated with – several North Florida-based hospitals, surgery centers, nursing facilities and assisted-living facilities. His current private practice is located at the Branford Family Medical Center.
Dr. Samera’s current hospital affiliations include Lake City Medical Center and Shands Lake Shore. He also is currently affiliated with the Lake City Surgery Center and the following assisted-living and skilled nursing centers: Still Waters West, Willowbrook, Oakridge, Baya Pointe, Avalon Health Care Rehab, and the Health Center in Lake City, Fla.
Dr. Samera attained his Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Certificate from the James A. Haley VA Hospital where he was trained in surgery of the foot and ankle.
For his residency, Dr. Samera trained at the James A. Haley VA Hospital in Tampa, which included rotations at the Bay Pines VA Hospital, the University of South Florida, and the Ambulatory Surgery Center in Tampa. Dr. Samera completed his residency with a focus on foot and ankle surgery with extensive external fixation methods and participated in published wound research.
Dr. Samera earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 2006 and his Bachelor’s of Science in Recreation - Therapeutic Emphasis from the University of Florida in 1997.
Dr. Samera appeared as a guest on "Perspective" a program hosted by Florida Gateway College.
